#344 NiceHCK NX8: $199.00 Amazon $199.00 eBay
Pros: Its 8 driver tribrid design measures smooth and warm across 20 measurers, with a 1.93 dB spread, bass about 1.6 dB above target and clean extension to 20 Hz. Upper treble air lifts about 3 dB, adding sparkle without harshness, and the 19 ohm, 111 dB/mW load is easy to drive.
Cons: Presence drops about 4 dB with a 5.2 dB dip near 4.6 kHz, which takes some edge and clarity off vocals and guitars. The overall warm tilt makes it less suited to listeners who want a bright, detailed presentation.
