#1088 Kinera Thorking: $2,499.00 Kinera $2,499.00 eBay
Pros: A flagship tribrid with one dynamic driver, six Knowles balanced armatures and four Sonion electrostatic drivers, whose overall tonal tilt is nearly neutral. Lower mids sit within 2 dB of target, giving voices body, and the 1 to 2 kHz range is close to target.
Cons: Sub bass is almost 4 dB below target, so the low end lacks rumble, and presence sits about 5 dB low with an 8 dB dip near 4.9 kHz, which makes vocals recessed. The response is uneven at 3.1 dB deviation, and its preference score of 62 is ordinary for $2499; the ThieAudio Monarch MKIII scores far higher for much less.
Is the Kinera Thorking right for you?
Buy it if
- you are sensitive to bright or sharp treble (treble sits 3.8 dB below target).

- you want the best value: the higher-rated EPZ G10 costs about $2,475 less.

Frequency Response
How the Kinera Thorking measures across the audible range, against the Harman in-ear target that most listeners prefer in blind tests. Where the line sits above the target that range sounds louder (more bass, brighter treble), below it quieter. The curve is the median of 4 independent measurements, so one odd sample or rig cannot skew it, and both lines are shifted so their 500 Hz to 2 kHz average sits at 0 dB.
Measurement data: median of 4 measurements from the squig.link databases of animagus, dl, ducbloke and silicagel. Thanks to each of them for publishing their work.
