#65 KZ Starbit: $59.99 Amazon $59.99 eBay

Pros: A gaming earphone at about $60 with one 10 mm dynamic driver and one balanced armature, a preference score of 82 and a low 1.43 dB deviation from target. Sub bass reaches fully to 20 Hz and the mids sit within half a decibel of target, and it includes a microphone.

Cons: A 6.8 dB peak near 8.2 kHz can make sibilants and cymbals sharp, and upper bass about 2 dB high adds a little warmth. Sensitivity is published without a reference level, and the score rests on a single measurement.

Frequency Response

How the KZ Starbit measures across the audible range, against the Harman in-ear target that most listeners prefer in blind tests. Where the line sits above the target that range sounds louder (more bass, brighter treble), below it quieter. The curve is a single measurement, and both lines are shifted so their 500 Hz to 2 kHz average sits at 0 dB.
