KZ Eldar - ranked #219 of 1476 In-Ear Headphones · Editor's rating 4.4/5

#219 KZ Eldar: $14.99 eBay

Pros: A budget single dynamic IEM at about $15 with a preference score of 78 and only 1.52 dB average deviation across two measurements. Bass carries a gentle 2 dB lift down to 20 Hz, and the midrange is almost on target.

Cons: Peaks of 4 dB near 8.2 kHz and 11.5 kHz add some sparkle and edge, and the warm tilt (minus 0.55) may feel thick to treble lovers. It is sold out, and KZ does not publish the driver size.

Frequency Response

How the KZ Eldar measures across the audible range, against the Harman in-ear target that most listeners prefer in blind tests. Where the line sits above the target that range sounds louder (more bass, brighter treble), below it quieter. The curve is the average of 2 independent measurements, and both lines are shifted so their 500 Hz to 2 kHz average sits at 0 dB.
