Short answer: the Xiaomi Sound Party for better sound quality, the Klipsch Groove for the lower price. The Xiaomi Sound Party ranks #19 of 157 medium speakers, rated 4.1/5, at $142.99. The Klipsch Groove ranks #105, rated 2.8/5, at $9, $133.99 cheaper.
The Xiaomi Sound Party is the better-sounding, longer-running option. An unusually versatile 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg) outdoor speaker: IP67 dust/water protection, USB-C power-bank output, NFC pairing, lights, stereo pairing and a claimed 26-hour battery life. It is rated for 26 hours of battery against 8 for the Klipsch Groove. It is rated IP67 against IPX4 for the Klipsch Groove. It links with other speakers (Party Connect, up to 100 speakers), which the Klipsch Groove cannot. Watch for: The sound evidence is mixed rather than universally glowing.
The Klipsch Groove is the lighter option. Pretty balanced sound in a compact, splash-resistant form factor. At 1.7 lbs (770 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Xiaomi Sound Party at 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg). It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Xiaomi Sound Party lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Xiaomi Sound Party lacks. The tradeoff: Bass doesn’t go as deep as class leaders.
Buy the Xiaomi Sound Party when sound quality outweighs the price for you, and the Klipsch Groove when the price outweighs sound quality instead.

The Two Speakers In Full
Xiaomi Sound Party: $142.99 Amazon eBay
Pros: An unusually versatile 1.2kg outdoor speaker: IP67 dust/water protection, USB-C power-bank output, NFC pairing, lights, stereo pairing and a claimed 26-hour battery life. Several independent reviews describe a warm, generally balanced sound with clear vocals and useful bass impact when Bass Boost is off. It is also easy to carry thanks to the retractable handle. Measured bass extension of 54Hz (-10dB).
Cons: The sound evidence is mixed rather than universally glowing. One lab review found it loud but flat and unclean with blurred treble, while others hear the Bass Boost mode as boomy upper bass that can bottom out at high volume. It is not the strongest choice for a large party: tested output is around 94dB and rivals such as the Soundcore Boom 2 play louder with deeper bass. SBC is the only Bluetooth codec and there is no aux input.

Klipsch Groove: 9.00 Amazon eBay
Pros: Pretty balanced sound in a compact, splash-resistant form factor. IPX4 water resistance and ~8 hour battery life make it durable for outdoor and poolside use. 3-inch high excursion full-range driver paired with dual side-firing passive radiators.
Cons: Not stereo. Bass doesn’t go as deep as class leaders. Distortion sets in at higher output levels. Older Bluetooth 4.0 architecture without app EQ.
