Short answer: the Walla Sound, if you are buying new, though neither ranks well in its class. The Xdobo X8 ranks higher than it (#158 vs #163 of 177 medium speakers, 2.3/5 vs 2.2/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Walla Sound is still sold new at $49.99. Both are rated below 3.0/5 among the 177 medium speakers, and the EarFun Uboom L, ranked #2 at $49.79, is a better place to start if sound quality matters.
The Walla Sound is the lighter choice. A small shockproof speaker with an aux input, microSD playback and a built in microphone. At 0.7 lbs (300 g) it weighs much less than the Xdobo X8 at 1.9 lbs (860 g). The catch: No bass, gets distorted when turned up.
The Xdobo X8 is the deeper-bass, longer-running option. A cheap splash resistant speaker that plays loud for background music outdoors, with aux and microSD playback. Its bass reaches about 65Hz before falling 10dB, against 90Hz for the Walla Sound. It is rated for 15 hours of battery against 8 for the Walla Sound. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Walla Sound lacks. Watch for: The single full-range driver is the limitation.
Buy the Walla Sound, since the Xdobo X8 is discontinued and only worth hunting down used.
