The EarFun Uboom L is the better-sounding, deeper-bass pick. A great value medium speaker with clear, natural sound, waterproofing, and a Video Mode that keeps audio in sync with video. Its bass reaches about 56Hz before falling 10dB, against 65Hz for the Xdobo X8. At 1.4 lbs (650 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Xdobo X8 at 1.9 lbs (860 g). It is rated IP67 against IPX5 for the Xdobo X8. The catch: It cannot produce real low-bass rumble or fill a large, noisy space, and the top end loses some detail.
What the Xdobo X8 does well: A cheap splash resistant speaker that plays loud for background music outdoors, with aux and microSD playback. The catch: The single full-range driver is the limitation.
Buy the EarFun Uboom L. It is rated higher for sound quality; the Xdobo X8 is no longer sold new.
