The Turtlebox Ranger is the better-sounding pick. Smoother frequency response than the other Turtlebox speakers. The catch: Bass sounds kind of thuddy and isn’t as deep as higher ranked speakers.
The Ultimate Ears Boom 4 is the lighter choice. IP67 rated, floats, and finally charges via USB-C instead of the older Booms’ Micro-USB. At 1.4 lbs (620 g) it weighs much less than the Turtlebox Ranger at 2.4 lbs (1.09 kg). It has an adjustable EQ, which the Turtlebox Ranger lacks.
