The Turtlebox Grande is the tougher pick. A rugged 18.7 lbs (8.5 kg) speaker with a 10-inch woofer, an IP67 submersible crush-proof shell and a 158Wh battery for about 3 days of playback. It is rated IP67 against IP65 for the Soundboks 4. The tradeoff: In YouTube sound samples it sounds only okay, and bass is shallow for a 10 inch woofer, only down 10dB at about 55Hz.
The Soundboks 4 is the longer-running choice. Tied for the loudest battery powered speaker. It is rated for 40 hours of battery against 25 for the Turtlebox Grande. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Turtlebox Grande lacks. The catch: Not as neutral or as deep of bass as the above Partyboxes.
