Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox 2. It ranks #83 of 142 medium speakers at $70, ahead of the original Stormbox at #96 for $68, and the price gap between them is small.
One note: the Tribit Stormbox is no longer sold new, but at #96 of 142 medium speakers by sound quality it still outranks most current models, so used is worth considering.
The original Stormbox has real tuning problems. Its pros list IPX7 water resistance, dual pairing for a stereo setup, excellent 20-hour battery life, instant on/off buttons, and 97dB max volume. But the cons are specific: it sounds muffled with a treble dip from 5kHz to 12kHz, listening from the front gives the worst frequency response, and it is not technically a 360-degree speaker since it only fires front and rear.
The Stormbox 2 improves the tuning but adds its own quirk. It sounds a little better than the original with less rolled-off treble, and reviewers recommend keeping Xbass on for the best frequency response. The tradeoff is its side-firing driver layout, so listening to it face-on rolls off the treble instead. It also adds an app, EQ, and a slightly higher 99dB max volume.
Buy the Tribit Stormbox 2 for the cleaner overall sound and added EQ and app control, and keep in mind you’ll want to angle it rather than face it directly at you.
Buy the original Tribit Stormbox only if you find a good deal on remaining stock and specifically want its longer 0ms Aux latency or true dual-pairing stereo setup, which the 2 does not offer.

Pros: IPX7 water resistant, dual pairing for stereo setup, excellent battery life (20 hours), instant on/off buttons, 97dB max volume. Measured bass extension of 52Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Muffled sounding, treble dips from 5kHz-12kHz. Listening from the front is the worst frequency response, lay it down facing up with xbass off for the smoothest response. Not technically a 360 speaker, only front and rear. Discontinued; Tribit has retired it, superseded by the Stormbox 2. Discontinued.
