The catch: It cannot produce real low-bass rumble or fill a large, noisy space, and the top end loses some detail.
The Tribit Stormbox 2 is the longer-running option. A light, waterproof everyday speaker with a long rated battery and an Xbass mode that fills out the low end. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 16 for the EarFun Uboom L. The tradeoff: Drivers on the side, so it will have a rolled off treble listening to it face on.
Buy the EarFun Uboom L. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Tribit Stormbox 2 and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
