Short answer: it’s close enough that price and looks should probably decide it. These rank #27 and #23 out of 47 small portable speakers, at $22.99 and $19.39, and side-by-side listening tests found them not far apart at all.
At low volume the PocketGo is a touch louder, and at max volume it may have a slight output edge too - but it also loses more bass as you push it toward max, where the Select 4 Go holds its low end a little better and sounds marginally cleaner at the top of its range. Both have a slightly nasal quality to their sound that neither fully escapes.
Both are small, app-controlled speakers with signature EQ presets and no aux input - you’re Bluetooth-only on either one, and neither is going to produce much real bass given the size. The PocketGo is the smaller of the two physically.
Buy whichever fits your budget or looks better to you. The sound difference between these two is genuinely minor - the Select 4 Go trades a couple of dollars more for slightly better bass control at volume, and the PocketGo trades that back for a touch more output at low levels.

The Two Speakers In Full
Tribit PocketGo: $22.99 Amazon
Pros: Fuller low end than the JBL Go 5, despite the JBL’s clearer, more typical JBL sound. Costs about half the price of the JBL Go 5. Can stand, hang from its loop, or lay flat on its feet for flexible placement. About on par with the Soundcore Select 4 Go, and a touch louder at lower volumes. App support with signature EQ and customization.
Cons: Battery life isn’t the biggest for this speaker class. JBL Go 5 has better build quality plus lightshow, Auracast, and AirTouch. Loses more bass than the Soundcore Select 4 Go at maximum volume. Slightly nasal quality to the sound.

Soundcore Select 4 Go: $19.39 Aliexpress Amazon Bhphotovideo
Pros: Quite inexpensive for what you get
Cons: Not as deep of bass as higher ranked speakers. Doesn’t get very loud before sound quality drops; some sibilance on snare/stick transients. No built-in mic; playback is mono unless you buy a second unit.
