Short answer: this is the clearest value comparison in subwoofers, and the measurements are not close. The Monoprice SW-15 costs $374.99 and the SVS SB-1000 Pro costs $599.
On output the Monoprice wins by a wide margin. CEA-2010-A average of 119.0 dB against 113.9 dB, and at 20 Hz the gap opens to 101.2 dB against 91.0 dB. Ten decibels at 20 Hz is not a subtle difference. It is roughly three times the perceived loudness in the band where movie effects live. For home theater, the cheaper subwoofer is straightforwardly the better performer.
But they are not the same kind of subwoofer. The SW-15 is a 15” ported cabinet weighing 30 kg (66.1 lbs). The SB-1000 Pro is a sealed 12” weighing 11.8 kg (26 lbs), well under half. That difference drives everything else:

- App, parametric EQ and room correction on the SVS. The Monoprice has a level knob, a crossover knob and a phase switch.
Buy the Monoprice SW-15 if you want maximum measured output per dollar, have the floor space, and mostly watch films. Better still, buy two: two SW-15s cost $750, still beat one SB-1000 Pro on output by a huge margin, and flatten room modes across every seat.
Buy the SVS SB-1000 Pro if the room is small, the cabinet size matters, you listen mostly to music, or you want the app and room correction. You are paying for size, control and support rather than bass.
