Short answer: the SVS PB-1000 PRO for better sound quality, the BIC America PL-300 for the lower price. The SVS PB-1000 PRO ranks #51 of 212 subwoofers, rated 3.8/5, at $849. The BIC America PL-300 ranks #89, rated 3.7/5, at $449, $400 cheaper.
What the SVS PB-1000 PRO does well: A ported 12 inch subwoofer with deep, room shaking bass for the money and app control. The catch: An SPL-style presentation with a heavier tone that is a little more in your face and can crush fine detail compared with Rythmik’s servo subs.
What the BIC America PL-300 does well: An affordable ported 12 inch subwoofer with three ports, adjustable tuning and a strong amplifier. Watch for: At 48.1 lbs (21.8 kg) and 457 x 387 x 476mm it is a large, heavy cabinet that needs floor space.
Buy the SVS PB-1000 PRO if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the BIC America PL-300 if the price matters more than sound quality.
