Battery life is the clearest gap. The Select 4 Go is rated for 20 hours versus just 10 for the Mi Portable Mini, twice the runtime at the same price. The Select 4 Go also adds an app with EQ control, which the Xiaomi lacks entirely, plus a newer Bluetooth 5.4 versus the Xiaomi’s 5.0.
Both have real tuning limits. The Select 4 Go’s cons note it doesn’t have as deep bass as higher-ranked speakers, doesn’t get very loud before quality drops, and shows some sibilance on snare and stick transients. The Xiaomi’s cons are shorter but pointed: not much bass, and rolled-off treble.
