Short answer: the Soundcore Select 4 Go, and it costs far less. At $22.99 against the Sony SRS-XB12 at $79, it is quite inexpensive for what you get, though its bass is not as deep as higher-ranked speakers. The Sony adds an aux input, but our notes call it muddy with not much bass and peaky treble.
What the Sony SRS-XB12 does well: A detachable strap hangs it from a bag or belt. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Soundcore Select 4 Go lacks. The catch: Muddy, with little bass and peaky treble.
Buy the Soundcore Select 4 Go. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Sony SRS-XB12 is discontinued, so it is only available used.
