Short answer: the Soundcore Motion 300. It ranks #3 of 175 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 4.5/5) at $79.99 and is still sold new; the Soundcore Flare 2 ranks #134 (rated 2.6/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.
The Soundcore Motion 300 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. Pretty deep bass for the small size. Its bass reaches about 50Hz before falling 10dB, against 56Hz for the Soundcore Flare 2. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the Soundcore Flare 2 lacks. The catch: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings.
The Soundcore Flare 2 is the lighter option. Try Alan Ross’s EQ for it. At 1.3 lbs (600 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Soundcore Motion 300 at 1.7 lbs (772 g). The tradeoff: Rolled off treble.
Buy the Soundcore Motion 300. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Soundcore Flare 2 is discontinued, so it is only available used.

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound. Beat the Marshall Stockwell III in Alan Ross’s live A/B. Measured bass extension of 50Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.
