The Sony XB33’s replacement, the Sony ULT Field 3, is rated 3.4/5 at $208.
The Soundcore Motion 300 is the better-sounding, louder option. Pretty deep bass for the small size. Alan Ross Reviews measured it at 101dB at full volume, against 97dB for the Sony XB33. At 1.7 lbs (772 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Sony XB33 at 2.4 lbs (1.1 kg). Watch for: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings.
The Sony XB33 is the longer-running option. IP67 rated and lightweight (2.4 lb). It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 13 for the Soundcore Motion 300. The catch: Not very loud.
Buy the Soundcore Motion 300. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Sony XB33 is discontinued, so it is only available used.

Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound. Measured bass extension of 50Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.

Pros: IP67 rated and lightweight (2.4 lb). App-controlled color LED lighting, Party Connect links up to 100 speakers. ~19 hour real-world battery without lights. Measured bass extension of 50Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not very loud. Upper bass peaks, midrange dip, upper midrange peaks, not very neutral. Speaker will not remain at max volume and will turn itself down automatically. Discontinued.
