The Soundcore Motion 300 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. A compact stereo speaker with deep bass for its size, hi res Bluetooth and a custom EQ for each position, standing or lying down. Its bass reaches about 50Hz before falling 10dB, against 63Hz for the Sonos Roam 2. It is rated IPX7 against IPX5 for the Sonos Roam 2. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the Sonos Roam 2 lacks. The tradeoff: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings.
The Sonos Roam 2 is the lighter option. A small Wi-Fi and Bluetooth speaker with water resistance, Alexa built in and Sonos multiroom support. At 0.9 lbs (429 g) it weighs much less than the Soundcore Motion 300 at 1.7 lbs (772 g). Watch for: Exact same sound quality as the original Sonos Roam.
Buy the Soundcore Motion 300. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Sonos Roam 2 and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.
