Short answer: the Soundcore Motion 300 for better sound quality, the Bogasing M5 for the lower price. The Soundcore Motion 300 ranks #2 of 135 medium speakers at $79.99. The Bogasing M5 ranks #52 at $47.99, $32 cheaper.
The case for the Soundcore Motion 300: Pretty deep bass for its small size, it fits in a big pocket, and it can be used in stereo facing you or omnidirectional lying flat, with a custom EQ available for each orientation. The catch: without applying an EQ it’s noticeably rolled off in the treble, Bassup mode sounds worse than Signature, it’s not as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers, and there’s some bass distortion at higher volumes.
What the Bogasing M5 gets right: It’s compact enough for a backpack side pocket at under 1.7 lb, offers up to 30 hours of battery life, and charges over USB-C with no proprietary cable to lose. Set against that: It uses a front/rear driver configuration best paired with bass mode for the flattest response, sounds thin in the midrange, and runs hot in the treble with rolled off bass in the default mode.
Buy the Soundcore Motion 300 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the Bogasing M5 if the price matters more than sound quality.
If battery life is a priority, the Bogasing M5 is rated for 30 hours versus 13 hours for the Soundcore Motion 300.

Soundcore Motion 300: $79.99 Amazon
Pros: Pretty deep bass for the small size. Pocket size in a big pocket. Can be used in stereo facing you, or omnidirectional lying down. Ability to have a custom EQ for each orientation, standing, lying flat, hanging. Try the Uboom L EQs from Oluv for a more neutral sound.
Cons: Without the above EQ or turning the top 2 treble EQ bars to max, this speaker is very rolled off in the treble and will rank around #50 in the rankings. Bassup mode is worse than Signature. Not quite as detailed or neutral as higher ranked speakers. Slight bass distortion when turned up.
