One note: the Soundboks 3 is discontinued, but it still ranks #7 of 14 battery-powered PA speakers by sound quality, ahead of most of what is still sold new, so it is worth considering used.
The 3 is built for maximum volume. Its dual 10-inch woofers and 1-inch compression tweeter with horn are tied for the loudest battery-powered speaker on the site, and both speakers’ high-efficiency drivers reach 2 to 3 times the volume of typical speakers for the same wattage. The 3 also adds a microphone input and guitar input for live use, along with a full EQ and app.
The Mix trades some output for modern conveniences. It charges its removable battery via 65W USB-C fast charging, something the 3 lacks entirely (it relies on an external AC power brick). It also adds IP65 dust and water resistance, which the 3 does not have, and it is noticeably lighter. The tradeoff is real: a single 10-inch woofer and only 72W of output, well short of the 3’s dual-woofer design, plus no app or EQ and no microphone or guitar input for karaoke and live sets.
Everything else matches: both offer a removable 40-hour battery and TeamUp linking with up to 5 SKAA speakers.
Buy the Soundboks 3 if maximum volume and karaoke or live inputs matter most, and you don’t mind an external power brick.
Buy the Soundboks Mix if USB-C charging and weather resistance matter more to you than the extra output and inputs.

Pros: Tied for the loudest battery powered speaker. Removable 40 hour battery. High efficiency drivers reach 2-3x the volume of typical speakers for the same wattage. Measured bass extension of 52Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Very large. Not as neutral or as deep of bass as the above Partyboxes. Not stereo. External power brick for charging. Discontinued; no longer sold by Soundboks, only third-party resale stock remains. Discontinued.
