The ULT Tower 5 is the better-sounding, better-equipped party speaker. A 9-inch woofer and two tweeters on 300W play in stereo, with a removable battery rated for 20 hours, a 10-band EQ, LDAC, and RCA, XLR and mic inputs. AudioTribe found deeper bass and clearer sound than the PartyBox Club 120. It has no wheels and is only splash resistant.
The Soundboks Mix is tougher and runs twice as long. It is rated IP65, claims 40 hours at mid volume from a swappable battery that fast-charges over USB-C, and TeamUp links up to five other Soundboks. At 21.4 lbs (9.7 kg) it is lighter. Its single 10-inch woofer does not reach as deep, its treble can be bright, and it has no app, EQ or mic input.
Buy the Sony ULT Tower 5. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Soundboks Mix and costs less, so it is the default pick unless a specific strength of the other one matters more to you.
