The ULT Tower 7 is the top-rated party speaker. Seven drivers on 420W play 360-degree stereo, its battery is rated for 30 hours with the lights off, and it has wheels, four handles, a 10-band EQ, LDAC and RCA, XLR and mic inputs. It is splash resistant only, and its Auracast linking does not work with older Sony Party Connect speakers.
The Soundboks Mix is lighter, tougher and runs longer. At 21.4 lbs (9.7 kg) it is rated IP65, claims 40 hours at mid volume from a swappable battery that fast-charges over USB-C, and links with up to five other Soundboks. Its single 10-inch woofer does not dig as deep, its treble can be bright, and it has no app, EQ or mic input.
Buy the Sony ULT Tower 7. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Soundboks Mix and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
