Short answer: the QSC K8.2, unless you already run L-Acoustics gear. These rank #1 and #2 out of 47 8-inch powered PA speakers, and both post unusually strong measured results for the size class, but only one of them is still easy to buy.
Both measure exceptionally well for an 8-inch box, with real caveats attached. The K8.2 returns a 7.74 ideal-subwoofer preference score, the standout result in this size class, though that number comes from low-quality vendor data and deserves some caution. The 108P is close behind at 6.42 from medium-quality data, with a measured bass extension down to 71Hz from its compact coaxial cabinet. Both speakers ultimately need a subwoofer partner to cover full-range PA duty.
The 108P is a discontinued cabinet. It is difficult to source today, and it lacks the onboard mixer or modern networking that current-production boxes offer. Its ranking reflects acoustic performance at launch, not present-day ownership convenience. The K8.2, by contrast, is a current QSC product backed by the company’s long market track record and wide dealer network.
Driver and build differ meaningfully. The K8.2 uses a discrete 8-inch woofer with a 1.4-inch titanium compression driver and a 105-degree conical horn, in an impact-resistant ABS cabinet with onboard DSP. The 108P instead uses a coaxial woofer/compression-driver arrangement in a 15/18mm Baltic birch plywood cabinet, with onboard presets and protection DSP but no user-adjustable EQ.
Buy the QSC K8.2 for a box you can actually purchase new, with full DSP control, XLR thru/mix outputs for daisy-chaining, and a 2 x M10 rigging option for flown use.
Buy the L-Acoustics 108P only if you find one on the used market at a strong discount and already own compatible L-Acoustics rigging or processing gear.

Frequency Response Compared
