These sit in different size classes, so this is not a straight ranking comparison. The Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker ranks #11 of 46 party speakers by sound quality at $249; the Soundboks 2 ranks #13 of 16 battery-powered PA speakers by sound quality at $449.

The Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker is the tougher choice. A compelling all-in-one party and karaoke package: dual 8-inch woofers, 240W claimed output, two included wireless microphones, dual mic/guitar inputs, karaoke effects and USB-A phone charging. It is rated IPX4, while the Soundboks 2 has no water resistance. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Soundboks 2 lacks. Watch for: Sound favors punch and a forward/bright top end over refinement.
The Soundboks 2 is the longer-running option. Built for maximum outdoor output: its two 10-inch woofers and silk-dome tweeter reach a claimed 124dB, while the removable battery is rated for up to 40 hours. It is rated for 40 hours of battery against 16 for the Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker. The catch: At 33.1 lbs (15 kg) it is large to transport, lacks weather protection, app EQ and TWS stereo pairing, and relies on an external charging arrangement.
One note: the Soundboks 2 is discontinued and no longer widely available new. The Soundboks 2’s replacement, the Soundboks 4, is still sold new.
Buy the Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker at $249 for a party speaker, or the Soundboks 2 at $449 for a battery-powered PA speaker instead.

The Two Speakers In Full
Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker: $249.00 Walmart $249.00 eBay
Pros: A compelling all-in-one party and karaoke package: dual 8-inch woofers, 240W claimed output, two included wireless microphones, dual mic/guitar inputs, karaoke effects and USB-A phone charging. It plays loudly enough for backyard use and has punchy bass; owners especially like the wheels, telescoping handle and colorful light effects. At 44 lb it is still a substantial cabinet, but the trolley design makes moving it far easier than carrying it.
Cons: Sound favors punch and a forward/bright top end over refinement. Independent comparisons and owner reports find the bass less deep and the overall balance less satisfying than the JBL PartyBox 320; several consider the far-cheaper Onn Large Party gen 2 the better sound-per-dollar buy. Some owners report distortion or static at high volume, and a few report wireless-mic pairing/dropout problems. Large (30 inches tall, 44 lb) and only IPX4 splash-resistant, not a speaker to leave out in rain.

Soundboks 2: $449 Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the Soundboks 4, ranked higher, rated 3.4/5, released Sep 2023. See every Soundboks generation.
Pros: Built for maximum outdoor output: its two 10-inch woofers and silk-dome tweeter reach a claimed 124dB, while the removable battery is rated for up to 40 hours. It also provides aux, microphone and guitar inputs, making it a practical battery-powered option for loud parties and informal performances.
Cons: At 15kg it is large to transport, lacks weather protection, app EQ and TWS stereo pairing, and relies on an external charging arrangement. Its tonal balance and bass depth are less refined than stronger modern party speakers, and this discontinued model requires caution around used-battery condition and support.
