Short answer: the Sony ULT Tower 5. It ranks #5 of 51 party speakers by sound quality, rated 4.5/5, at $348. The Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker ranks #11, rated 4.1/5, at $249, $99 cheaper, which does not close the gap in sound quality.
The case for the Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker: A loud wheeled karaoke party speaker with punchy bass, two included wireless mics, and guitar inputs at a reasonable price. The tradeoff: Sound favors punch and a forward/bright top end over refinement.
The Sony ULT Tower 5 is the better-sounding, lighter choice. A powerful party tower with deep bass, a removable long battery, and mic and XLR inputs for karaoke or DJ use. At 28 lbs (12.7 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker at 44 lbs (19.96 kg). The catch: It has a shorter 20-hour battery claim than the Sony ULT Tower 7’s 30 hours, no wheels, and only IPX4 splash resistance.
Buy the Sony ULT Tower 5. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $99 you would save on the Onn XL Wireless Party Speaker does not close the gap.
