Short answer: the onn Portable FM Boombox. It ranks #23 of 78 large speakers by sound quality at $74.83; the Dali Katch G2 ranks #59 and costs $750, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.
What the onn Portable FM Boombox offers: Extremely good value. Reasonably deep bass, though not as deep as something like the JBL Xtreme 3, Soundcore Boom 2, or Tribit Stormbox Lava. IPX7 waterproof and floats. FM radio with 10 presets. 6 multicolor LED lighting effects. Can run on battery or corded power. Watch for: Reasonable frequency response, but not quite as smooth as some of the top-ranked speakers in this size. No custom EQ. Only available in the United States and Canada.
What the Dali Katch G2 offers: Pretty neutral Watch for: Loses bass quickly after 40% volume. A lot of compression artifacts at high volume. External AC power brick for charging. Horribly overpriced. Nearly identical to the Dali Katch G1. Reverb added to the output screws up the imaging. Quite a hollow character to the sound.
Buy the onn Portable FM Boombox. It ranks higher for sound quality than the Dali Katch G2 and costs less, so the other one has nothing left to offer.
If sound quality matters at all to you, skip the Dali Katch G2. It ranks near the bottom of the 78 large speakers, so look higher up the list instead.
There is a real battery-life gap here: the Dali Katch G2 is rated for 30 hours, the onn Portable FM Boombox only 16 hours.
