Short answer: the Sony SRS-XP500 for balanced sound, the Onn Large Party gen 2 on price. The XP500’s 3-way design with dual passive radiators delivers a well-balanced sound with a 20-hour battery and karaoke support, though it isn’t as loud or deep-bassed as the JBL Partybox 100 or 110. The Onn costs far less with karaoke mic and guitar inputs and wheels of its own, though Consumer Reports found its bass boomy and treble smeared with no app or EQ. The Sony SRS-XP500 is discontinued; its replacement is the Sony SRS-XV500. If you are buying new, get the Sony SRS-XV500.
