The KH 150 is the reference two-way. Audio Science Review measured an exceptionally tight 1.0dB response span from 300Hz to 5kHz and bass reaching 39.6Hz before falling 3dB, with a preference score of 6.65. Its DSP and optional MA 1 alignment correct for the room. Keep the tweeter near ear height.
The Orbit 11 is a big coaxial monitor with very deep bass. A coaxial midrange and tweeter over two 8-inch woofers reach 27.8Hz before falling 3dB, its midrange spans 1.8dB, and its cardioid front baffle reduces side and rear reflections. It takes only XLR and AES3 digital inputs and is sold individually.
Buy the Neumann KH 150. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $1,866 with the Palmer Orbit 11 does not make up for the sound-quality gap.
