Short answer: the Monoprice Premium Select 8in 200-Watt. It ranks #46 of 73 subwoofers by sound quality (rated 3.2/5) at $224.99 and is still sold new; the Paradigm Millenia CT ranks #69 (rated 2.6/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.
The Monoprice Premium Select 8in 200-Watt is the better-sounding choice. A low cost ported 8 inch subwoofer with a 200 watt amp, an easy entry point for a first subwoofer. The catch: Very compact 18.5 lbs (8.4 kg) size, limited 106.4 dB output, ported room interaction, and entry-level build.
The case for the Paradigm Millenia CT: A slim 8 inch subwoofer that adds bass support without the footprint of a full size cabinet. Watch for: Without a published 20 Hz output result, deep-bass capability is less certain than its midbass figure.
Buy the Monoprice Premium Select 8in 200-Watt. It is rated higher for sound quality; the Paradigm Millenia CT is no longer sold new.
