The Monacor SOUND-4BT is the better-sounding option. A compact powered pair with Bluetooth, optical and analog inputs, a remote and a subwoofer output. The tradeoff: Predicted in-room response remains uneven despite the modest midrange span.
What the Fiio SP3 does well: Small angled desktop speakers that fit a tight desk and reach a little deeper in the bass than many similar sized pairs. Watch for: The response rises strongly toward the treble, about 1.13dB per octave, with a recessed midrange and problematic crossover behavior.
Buy the Fiio SP3 if you want one new; the Monacor SOUND-4BT is discontinued, so only look for it used.
