The MoFi SourcePoint 10 is the better-sounding option. A large bookshelf speaker with a 10 inch concentric driver that acts like a point source, with a huge soundstage and strong, clean dynamics. Watch for: Like virtually all coincident designs, sounds notably bright pointed directly on-axis due to a deliberate treble lift (meant to compensate for the 28mm tweeter’s earlier beaming versus a typical 25mm/1” tweeter) combined with a diffraction dip/peak from the waveguide edge; needs about 15° of toe-out to sound neutral, and even then benefits from an extra 1-2dB of treble EQ.
What the Dynaudio Emit 20 does well: Bookshelf speakers with unusually deep, low distortion bass for a two-way design and wide, consistent dispersion. The tradeoff: A resonance around 600-800Hz gives snares and similar percussion a muffled, flat quality lacking impact: confirmed as originating in the woofer itself (isolated via measurements of the raw driver out of the cabinet), and attempts at constrained-layer damping didn’t resolve it.
Buy the MoFi SourcePoint 10 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the Dynaudio Emit 20 if the price matters more than sound quality.
