Short answer: both are discontinued, so this only matters if you are buying used. Used, the Minirig 2 is the better pick: it ranks #9 of 164 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 4.3/5), against #71 (rated 3.4/5) for the Bose Soundlink Mini 2. If you want one new, the Earfun Uboom L ranks #2 at $49.79.

The Minirig 2 is the better-sounding, longer-running option. Modular, can easily attach a subwoofer. It is rated for 40 hours of battery against 10 for the Bose Soundlink Mini 2. At 1.1 lbs (488 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 at 1.5 lbs (680 g). It is rated Splash resistant, while the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 has no water resistance. Watch for: Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating.
What the Bose Soundlink Mini 2 does well: Compact aluminum build feels sturdy and dense. ~10 hour battery life; can pair to two devices at once and remembers up to 8. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Minirig 2. Watch for: Boosted upper bass like most Bose speakers.
Buy the Minirig 2 only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, start with the Earfun Uboom L instead.
