What the B&O Beosound A1 gets right: Deeper bass than the A1 2nd gen. The catch: Not quite as neutral as the A1 2nd gen.
On the Minirig 2 side: Modular, can easily attach a subwoofer. The tradeoff: Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating.
One note: the B&O Beosound A1 is discontinued, but it still ranks #9 of 142 medium speakers by sound quality, ahead of most of what is still sold new, so it is worth considering used.
Buy the Minirig 2. It ranks higher for sound quality than the B&O Beosound A1 and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.
There is a real battery-life gap here: the Minirig 2 is rated for 40 hours, the B&O Beosound A1 only 24 hours.
Water resistance is not close: the B&O Beosound A1 is rated at IP67 (brief submersion), well ahead of the Minirig 2 at Splash resistant (splashing).

Cons: Not stereo. Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating. App is buggy. Wireless TWS pairing is buggy. A bit expensive. Has reliability issues more often than any other speaker. Discontinued; Minirig’s current lineup is the Minirig 4, Subwoofer 4 Ultra and Finite MR-79. Discontinued.
