Short answer: the Minirig 2 if you want to add a subwoofer. At $140 against the A1’s $200, it is modular and can easily attach a subwoofer, though it only calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating. The B&O A1 goes deeper in the bass than the A1 2nd gen but is not quite as neutral as the 2nd gen.

Buy the Minirig 2. Both are rated the same for sound quality, and it costs $60 less than the B&O Beosound A1.
There is a real battery-life gap here: the Minirig 2 is rated for 40 hours, the B&O Beosound A1 only 24 hours.
Water resistance is not close: the B&O Beosound A1 is rated at IP67 (brief submersion), well ahead of the Minirig 2 at Splash resistant (splashing).
