B&O Beosound A1 vs Minirig 2

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Short answer: the Minirig 2. It ranks #8 of 134 medium speakers at $140; the B&O Beosound A1 ranks #9 and costs $200, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.

What the B&O Beosound A1 gets right: Deeper bass than the A1 2nd gen. The catch: Not quite as neutral as the A1 2nd gen.

On the Minirig 2 side: Modular, can easily attach a subwoofer. The tradeoff: Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating.

One note: the B&O Beosound A1 is discontinued, but it still ranks #9 of 134 medium speakers, ahead of most of what is still sold new, so it is worth considering used.

Buy the B&O Beosound A1 if the price matters more than the ranking. Buy the Minirig 2 if the ranking matters more than the price.
