Short answer: the Marshall Woburn III is the practical buy because it delivers more power, deeper bass and current connectivity, while the original Woburn is now a used-market proposition. Woburn III has a 150W driver array, HDMI, Bluetooth 5.2, app control and a claimed 45Hz bass limit. It is still a mains-powered indoor speaker, not a portable one.
The discontinued Woburn I has physical bass and treble controls, RCA and aux inputs, and aptX support. Its 90W output and stereo layout remain useful, but its midrange can be peaky, upper treble rolls off, and practical bass is closer to 50Hz.
Buy the Marshall Woburn I only if you find a well-priced used unit and specifically value aptX or its original control layout.
Buy the Marshall Woburn III if you want the stronger current model with HDMI, app control and more output.
