These sit in different size classes, so this is not a straight ranking comparison. The Marshall Stockwell II ranks #11 of 82 large speakers by sound quality at $229.99; the Ultimate Ears Boom 4 ranks #93 of 144 medium speakers by sound quality at $119.99.

The case for the Marshall Stockwell II: Marshall Stockwell II uses 3” woofer, 2x 2” fullrange tweeters. The catch: Bass is limited by its 44Hz specification.
Why pick the Ultimate Ears Boom 4: IP67 rated, floats, and finally charges via USB-C instead of the older Booms’ Micro-USB. The tradeoff: Not much improvement over the old ones.
Buy the Marshall Stockwell II ($229.99) for a large speaker; the Ultimate Ears Boom 4 ($119.99) suits a medium speaker instead.
Water resistance is not close: the Ultimate Ears Boom 4 is rated at IP67 (brief submersion), well ahead of the Marshall Stockwell II at IPX4 (splashing).

Marshall Stockwell II: $229.99 Amazon eBay
Newer model: the Marshall Stockwell III, rated 3/5.
Pros: Marshall Stockwell II uses 3” woofer, 2x 2” fullrange tweeters. Its 1.4 kg, claimed 20 hours (Manufacturer specified) battery life, IPX4 protection, aux input, up to 96dB and mono playback make it a practical option for its intended room or portable use. Possibly the most natural sounding Marshall speaker, with excellent off-axis sound. Measured bass extension of 44Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Bass is limited by its 44Hz specification. There is no companion app. No EQ adjustment. Not very loud, and the added DSP reverb may annoy purists.
