Short answer: the Marshall Stockwell II. It ranks #11 of 97 large speakers by sound quality (rated 4.5/5) at $229.99 and is still sold new; the Soundcore Trance ranks #92 (rated 2.1/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.
The Marshall Stockwell II is the better-sounding, deeper-bass pick. Possibly the most natural sounding Marshall speaker, with excellent off-axis sound. Its bass reaches about 44Hz before falling 10dB, against 63Hz for the Soundcore Trance. At 3.1 lbs (1.4 kg) it weighs much less than the Soundcore Trance at 7.7 lbs (3.5 kg). Watch for: Not very loud, and the added DSP reverb may annoy purists.
The Soundcore Trance is the tougher choice. 80W power with up to 105dB output and BassUp technology. It is rated IPX7 against IPX4 for the Marshall Stockwell II. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Marshall Stockwell II lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Marshall Stockwell II. The catch: Hugely recessed midrange and treble.
Buy the Marshall Stockwell II. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Soundcore Trance is discontinued.
