Short answer: the LG Xboom Grab. It ranks #106 of 177 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 3.0/5) at $100.98 and is still sold new; the Xdobo X8 ranks #158 (rated 2.3/5) and is discontinued, so it is only an option used.
The LG Xboom Grab is the better-sounding, longer-running choice. A rugged waterproof speaker with elastic mounting straps, a long 20 hour battery, multipoint pairing and app room calibration. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 15 for the Xdobo X8. At 1.5 lbs (680 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Xdobo X8 at 1.9 lbs (860 g). It is rated IP67 against IPX5 for the Xdobo X8. The catch: Bass extension not as deep as the top speakers.
The Xdobo X8 is the deeper-bass pick. A cheap splash resistant speaker that plays loud for background music outdoors, with aux and microSD playback. Its bass reaches about 65Hz before falling 10dB, against 75Hz for the LG Xboom Grab. It keeps a wired aux input, which the LG Xboom Grab lacks. Watch for: The single full-range driver is the limitation.
Buy the LG Xboom Grab. It is rated higher for sound quality; the Xdobo X8 is no longer sold new.
