The LG Xboom Grab is the better-sounding, lighter pick. A rugged waterproof speaker with elastic mounting straps, a long 20 hour battery, multipoint pairing and app room calibration. The tradeoff: Bass extension not as deep as the top speakers.

Its bass reaches about 55Hz before falling 10dB, against 75Hz for the LG Xboom Grab. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the LG Xboom Grab lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the LG Xboom Grab lacks. Watch for: Independent lab listening rates music fidelity only fair: bass has impact but is boomy and lacks the deepest notes, while the midrange can sound hazy, muffled and grainy.
Buy the LG Xboom Grab. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the Sony SRS-XB30 is discontinued, so it is only available used.
