The DDQ12 is light and measures well for its price. Medium-quality vendor data returns a strong 6.32 ideal-subwoofer preference score and 63Hz bass extension, and the lightweight 37.5 lbs (17 kg) plywood enclosure with a controlled 80° x 50° horn makes it easy to deploy as a compact professional top. Its own cons note the discontinued DDQ platform is harder to buy and support than current LD, RCF, JBL or Yamaha ranges, and its controls and connectivity are basic, with no app, networking or onboard mixer.
The h-12 is a networked, premium-driver speaker at a steep price and weight. Its beryllium-diaphragm compression driver, Dante/AES connectivity and 96kHz networked DSP are genuinely premium features, and low-quality vendor data still produces a respectable 5.90 ideal-subwoofer preference score with about 63Hz bass extension, essentially matching the DDQ12’s measured reach. But its own cons flag the 77.6 lbs (35.2 kg) cabinet as exceptionally heavy with a premium price difficult to justify for portable use, and its published 125dB measured peak is modest beside mainstream competitors.
Buy the DDQ12 for a light, well-measuring box at a fraction of the price, accepting that the platform is discontinued.
Buy the h-12 if Dante/AES networking and a beryllium compression driver are requirements for your system and portability isn’t a concern.
