The Klipsch RP-600M II is the more accurate choice. Bookshelf speakers with a large horn tweeter, wide soundstage, high efficiency and bi-amp ready terminals. Its measured preference score, a predictor of how neutral it sounds, is 5.64 against 3.26 for the DIYSG HTM-12 v2. The tradeoff: On-axis, the treble runs notably hot (even hotter than the original Klipsch RP-600M in some respects) and needs about 20° of toe-out or the grille installed to sound balanced.
The DIYSG HTM-12 v2 is the better-sounding pick. A high output home theater kit with a 12 inch woofer and horn tweeter, very low distortion, and an easy load for most receivers. The catch: Erin measured F3 at approximately 67Hz, the normal efficiency/bass-extension tradeoff of a high-sensitivity 12-inch design, so a subwoofer is mandatory.
Buy the Klipsch RP-600M II if you want one new; the DIYSG HTM-12 v2 is discontinued, so only look for it used.
