Short answer: the MoFi SourcePoint 10 for directivity, the KEF R11 Meta for bass extension and a more even on-axis balance. The MoFi’s Andrew Jones-designed concentric driver delivers best-in-class sound power and early-reflections directivity, but it sounds notably bright pointed directly on-axis because of a deliberate treble lift. The KEF’s spinorama is generally flat with very deep bass to an F10 of 30Hz, its main flaw a dip around 1-1.2kHz.
The MoFi SourcePoint 10 is the deeper-bass pick. A large bookshelf speaker with a 10 inch concentric driver that acts like a point source, with a huge soundstage and strong, clean dynamics. Its bass reaches about 56Hz before falling 3dB, against 64Hz for the KEF R11 Meta. The catch: Like virtually all coincident designs, sounds notably bright pointed directly on-axis due to a deliberate treble lift (meant to compensate for the 28mm tweeter’s earlier beaming versus a typical 25mm/1” tweeter) combined with a diffraction dip/peak from the waveguide edge; needs about 15° of toe-out to sound neutral, and even then benefits from an extra 1-2dB of treble EQ.
Buy the KEF R11 Meta ($6,999.98) for a floorstanding speaker; the MoFi SourcePoint 10 ($3,795) suits a bookshelf speaker instead.
