JBL Xtreme 4 vs W-King X10

Last updated: September 26, 2026

These sit in different size classes, so this is not a straight ranking comparison. The JBL Xtreme 4 ranks #40 of 82 large speakers by sound quality at $309.95; the W-King X10 ranks #65 of 76 boombox speakers by sound quality at $80.

JBL Xtreme 4 vs W-King X10

The Xtreme 4 is in a different league for sound. Reviews find it clear, punchy and refined, with a detailed midrange and a strong 106dB maximum. The W-King X10 reaches the same measured 106dB, but its treble is heavily rolled off, so it sounds dull next to the JBL, with less bass than the top speakers in its class too.

Where the W-King X10 wins is features per dollar. It has a claimed 42 hours of battery, an aux input, microSD and USB playback, a USB-A power bank output and a built-in microphone. The Xtreme 4 has no aux input at all.

Durability and extras on the JBL: IP67 against the X10’s IPX6, a replaceable battery, a USB-C power bank, Auracast linking, stereo pairing and a 5-band app EQ. The Xtreme 4 benefits from EQ out of the box, since it leans bass boosted with a dip between the upper bass and midrange.

Weight: 2.1 kg for the Xtreme 4 against 2.95 kg for the X10.

Buy the JBL Xtreme 4 at $309.95 for a large speaker, or the W-King X10 at $80 for a boombox speaker instead.

There is a real battery-life gap here: the W-King X10 is rated for 42 hours, the JBL Xtreme 4 only 24 hours.

Newer model: the JBL Xtreme 5, rated 4.6/5.

Pros: A rugged 2.1kg portable with IP67 protection, a replaceable battery, USB-C power-bank output, Auracast, stereo pairing and a useful 5-band app EQ. Independent reviews find the midrange detailed and the sound clear, punchy and refined for outdoor use; it also reaches a strong 106dB maximum level and has excellent real-world battery life.

Cons: It cannot produce the deep rumble of a larger speaker, and bass compression increases near maximum volume. The front-facing layout has only modest off-axis consistency, Bluetooth latency is high for video, and the default balance benefits from EQ adjustment. There is no aux input, so wired sources are not supported. Out of the box it leans bass-boosted, with a dip between the upper bass and midrange that EQ cannot fix, and it pushes the upper mids and treble at high volume. It is also expensive.
