Short answer: the Xtreme 4, for a real premium. It ranks #36 of 76 large speakers at $380; the ULT Field 5 ranks #40 at $198, $182 less.
The ULT Field 5’s own cons are unusually candid: bass not as deep as others in the category, and sound quality overall is just okay. It does add IP67 rating, a 25-hour battery, and a 10-band app EQ.
The Xtreme 4 has real flaws too. A removable battery is its headline feature, but its own cons describe a dip in the upper bass to midrange that can’t be EQ’d out, plus a high price for what it delivers.
Buy the ULT Field 5 if the price gap matters more than the ranking. Buy the Xtreme 4 for the removable battery and the stronger measured placement.
