Short answer: the JBL Xtreme 3 for better sound quality, the Teufel Rockster Cross for the lower price. The JBL Xtreme 3 ranks #18 of 77 large speakers at $209.12. The Teufel Rockster Cross ranks #21 at $199.99, $9.13 cheaper.
What the JBL Xtreme 3 gets right: Better treble and deeper bass than the Xtreme 2. More balanced sounding than the Xtreme 4. The catch: Boosted bass. Not as deep bass as better speakers. Not as balanced as better speakers.
What the Teufel Rockster Cross offers: Pretty neutral frequency response. More vocal/midrange-focused than the JBL Xtreme 4, thanks to a larger mid/bass driver - better suited to rock and jazz. Set against that: Outdoor mode can sound somewhat harsh due to the 4khz peak. Not as deep or full-sounding in the bass as the JBL Xtreme 4.
Buy the JBL Xtreme 3 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the Teufel Rockster Cross if the price matters more than sound quality.

Teufel Rockster Cross: $199.99 Amazon
Pros: Pretty neutral frequency response. More vocal/midrange-focused than the JBL Xtreme 4, thanks to a larger mid/bass driver - better suited to rock and jazz. Nicer upper-bass detail than the JBL Xtreme 4. Punchy, well-controlled bass that suits rock music, unlike the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus’s overboosted, uncontrolled bass even at stock tuning. Clear, detailed audio with good vocal presence and solid Bluetooth codec support even a couple years after release.
Cons: Outdoor mode can sound somewhat harsh due to the 4khz peak. Not as deep or full-sounding in the bass as the JBL Xtreme 4.
