The JBL Partybox Stage 320 is the lighter, tougher option. An excellent sounding party speaker, with deep bass that holds up at high volume, wheels, a removable battery and mic inputs. At 36.4 lbs (16.5 kg) it weighs much less than the Sony SRS-XV900 at 58.6 lbs (26.6 kg). It is rated IPX4, while the Sony SRS-XV900 has no water resistance. Watch for: Slightly sibilant in the treble at full blast.
The Sony SRS-XV900 is the longer-running option. A loud battery party tower with sound spread around the room, karaoke inputs, and wheels, now discontinued. It is rated for 25 hours of battery against 18 for the JBL Partybox Stage 320. It supports LDAC Bluetooth, which the JBL Partybox Stage 320 lacks. The tradeoff: Not as deep of bass and loses more bass at high volume compared to the JBL Partybox 310 and every other speaker on this page.
One note: the Sony SRS-XV900 is no longer in production and isn’t widely stocked new anymore. The Sony SRS-XV900’s replacement, the Sony ULT Tower 9, is still sold new.
Buy the JBL Partybox Stage 320 ($499.95) for a party speaker; the Sony SRS-XV900 ($900) suits a large party speaker instead.
