The XP700’s sound has a specific flaw our notes call out. They describe a weird midrange peak, along with bass that isn’t as deep as several older Partybox models and volume that falls slightly short of the Partybox 310. The Partybox 330’s own notes are more about diminishing returns than outright flaws: its sound quality is nearly identical to the older 310 and Stage 320 despite its power bump, so it isn’t a meaningful upgrade if you already own either of those.
Water resistance is one of the clearest gaps. The Partybox 330 carries an IPX4 splash rating, while the XP700 has no water resistance at all, worth weighing if either speaker will see outdoor or poolside use.
The XP700 wins on battery life and Bluetooth codec support. It’s rated for 25 hours against the Partybox 330’s 18, and supports the higher-quality LDAC and AAC codecs where the Partybox 330 is limited to SBC. The XP700 also adds a rear tweeter for a 360-degree sound effect alongside its dual 6.69-inch woofers and three front tweeters.
The Partybox 330 counters with more physical inputs and connectivity. It adds an optical TV input, USB-C lossless playback, true wireless stereo pairing, and a removable battery, none of which the XP700 offers.
Buy the Partybox 330 if sound quality and splash resistance matter most, and you don’t already own a similar older Partybox.
Buy the XP700 if battery life, Bluetooth codec quality, and price matter more, and you don’t need water resistance.
