The JBL Grip is the lighter option. A small, fully waterproof speaker with app EQ, ambient lighting, Auracast linking and USB-C audio input. At 0.8 lbs (385 g) it weighs much less than the Bogasing G4 at 1.8 lbs (830 g). It links with other speakers (Auracast), which the Bogasing G4 cannot. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Bogasing G4 lacks. The catch: Lacking deeper bass, definitely the worst of the JBL line until you get to the smaller clip.
The Bogasing G4 is the better-sounding, deeper-bass pick. A light, affordable waterproof speaker with surprisingly strong bass for its size, solid loudness, long battery life and stereo pairing. Its bass reaches about 56Hz before falling 10dB, against 68Hz for the JBL Grip. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 14 for the JBL Grip. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Grip lacks. The catch: The upper treble is boosted and uneven, while the mids sit slightly behind the bass and highs, so it is not a neutral choice for vocal-focused music.
Buy the Bogasing G4. It is rated higher for sound quality than the JBL Grip and costs less, so only choose the other one for a particular feature it does better.
