Short answer: the JBL Go 4. It ranks #30 of 59 small speakers by sound quality, rated 3.2/5, at $49.95; the Soundcore Glow Mini ranks #37, rated 3.1/5, at $44.99. The price gap is small enough that the sound-quality ranking should decide it.
The JBL Go 4 is the lighter option. A little more bass than the JBL Go 3 and they fixed the strange mids peak. At 0.4 lbs (190 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Soundcore Glow Mini at 0.6 lbs (280 g). Watch for: Not much bass at all, especially with electronic/bass-heavy tracks pushed past ~50% volume.
The Soundcore Glow Mini is the longer-running choice. 360-degree sound with a synchronized 360-degree LED light ring. It is rated for 12 hours of battery against 7 for the JBL Go 4. The tradeoff: 8W single full-range driver output limits maximum volume and bass extension in larger spaces.
Buy the JBL Go 4. It is rated higher for sound quality, and the $4.96 you would save on the Soundcore Glow Mini does not close the gap.
Worth knowing: the Soundcore Glow Mini has not been measured yet. Its rating is estimated from related models, with a likely range of 2.9 to 3.3, so treat this verdict as provisional.
