The Flip 6 is very neutral and a huge leap over the Flip 5, though it is not stereo.
The JBL Flip 6’s case: It’s a very neutral, very small, almost pocket sized speaker, and a huge sound quality leap over the Flip 5. The catch is: it isn’t stereo, has a slight emphasis in the upper mids, and the Vietnam-made TL version’s tweeter can sound somewhat scratchy compared to the China-made GG version.
The Tribit Stormbox Pro earns points for: 24 hours of battery life at 60% volume with XBass off, doubling as a power bank, IP67 rating, and multi-point Bluetooth 5.3 pairing. But: its bottom woofer issue was only fixed in a later firmware update, the mids are peaky with rolled off highs, and it isn’t technically a 360 degree speaker since it only fires front and rear.
Buy the JBL Flip 6. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $39.95 with the Tribit Stormbox Pro does not make up for the sound-quality gap.
